Joshua Godette

Art has been a part of Joshua Godette's life since the age of five. Now a Student Artist pursuing art as a career, it remains an important way of self expression. Oil painting is his preferred medium, however working with watercolor, acrylics, pastels, sculpture, and pottery are also enjoyed.  

Joshua is inspired to celebrate cultural identity, unity and understanding through his art, influenced by cultures and experiences that have shaped him - including Guyanese, Nigerian, Guinean, Malagasy, and his own Akawaio heritage. His hope is to encourage others to appreciate culture, express themselves, and find connection through creativity.

This is Josh's representation of a U.S. indigenous Tipi. He has found himself very drawn to these cultural symbols, perhaps due to parallels with his own indigenous heritage.
